Beach Home in Deep Ocean

Beach homes get hammered by wind, sand, and water. They are particularly susceptible to moisture issues and rot. This pretty vacation home is no different. The owner contacted us wanted to replace the hardboard siding with something that would tolerate the elements better.

We helped the homeowner to decide on James Hardie fiber cement siding. She went with the traditional horizontal lap in beautiful Evening Blue with Arctic White trim. The color combination looks beautiful on the beach and was a nice, updated change from the previous light green.

Upon beginning the demo process, we found quite a bit of rot to the sheathing and framing. After remediating the rot, our crew wrapped the house in Hardie Wrap weather barrier and then installed the new siding and trim.
