Project Description

While many of our customers come to us for a full siding replacement on their homes, some of them do have a smaller project in mind! This particular homeowner had a detached garage that was suffering from major rot and damage. he knew that he needed new siding, which was also in need of replacing, but he wasn’t sure the extent of the damage underneath.

After considering different siding options, our customer decided to go with James Hardie fiber cement siding. It is a high quality product, and when installed properly will last many, many years with low maintenance. He chose the pre-finished ColorPlus line with a cedarwood texture and in the color Cobblestone, a beautiful neutral. He also chose a smooth textured trim in Arctic White.

Once the old siding was removed, the extend of the damage became very obvious. Termites and moisture wreaked havoc on this structure, so our crew had to provide new framing and sheathing before installing the new Hardie siding.

This detached garage is now as good as new, with healthy framing and sheathing and a durable, low maintenance siding that will protect the structure, and its contents, for a very long time!
