Project Description

This Charlotte ranch home had a lot of potential but was unfortunately covered in deteriorating Masonite siding. It was dirty, cracking and peeling and desperately needed replacing! The windows were original to the house and made from vinyl. There were broken seals and inoperable windows throughout the home.

Our homeowners spent the past few years updating the inside of this home and were now interested in renovating the outside. They utilized our Home Visualizer tool to decide on their color palette. They fell in love with James Hardie’s Evening Blue. They kept it simple by using horizontal plank throughout, and used Arctic White trim for contrast.

When deciding on windows, our customers contemplated a few different brands, but ultimately went with Andersen’s 100 Series series. It is a composite window made from Fibrex, a great upgrade from the vinyl they had. They went with white frames and Colonial grilles.

Unfortunately, when the old Masonite siding was removed, our crew found a lot of rot on the sheathing and framing. This is not uncommon for Masonite siding and our customers did expect remediation to be necessary. Once we made those repairs the weather wrap and siding went up quickly…and what an improvement! This home now has incredible curb appeal and we have very happy homeowners.
