Project Description
This mostly brick home had gables that were sided in vinyl. The siding was old and faded and needed replacement. The homeowners also were interested in resurfacing their existing deck in something other than wood. The wood boards of their current deck were rotting and becoming a safety issue.
The homeowners decided on James Hardie Smooth Board & Batten in Cobblestone for their gables with matching trim for the soffit and fascia. They also decided to close off their attic vents in their gables. They decided to change the entire look of the deck by using Trex Transcend decking material in Havana Gold and replacing the wood railing with a black aluminum one.
While the change in siding is subtle yet modernizing, the change in the deck is striking! It has become a beautiful entertainment space that is build to last many, many years.
