The owner of this colonial in Weaverville, North Carolina knew parts of his siding needed replacement. The existing siding was a 40-year-old wood plank that was growing soft in spots. He wasn’t sure of the extent of the replacement, so worked with Hatch Homes to diagnose the problem and come up with a plan.
Upon closer inspection, only one small section of siding needed to be replaced. It was the wall located on the second story over the garage. The remaining wood siding was in good shape. The homeowner decided to have us paint the entire exterior, giving the home a fresh new look.
Since the home was to be painted, our customer chose James Hardie Primed fiber cement horizontal plank siding. He chose the smooth texture so it would blend seamlessly with his existing wood siding. Our crew got to work removing the old siding, putting up a new weather barrier on the exposed section, then installing the new fiber cement siding. Once completed, the painting crew took over and painted the entire exterior of the home in Sherwin Williams Summit Gray.
With minimal cost and materials, this home got a whole new look, and our homeowner couldn’t be happier.
