Once a contractor’s go-to, masonite was all the rage in the 1980’s as a siding option. Unfortunately, it has not aged very well over the years and is known for it’s cracking and splitting. This homeowner came to us for that exact reason. Their original Masonite siding was cracked and starting to rot. They had to get it replaces as soon as possible so as not to risk damage to their home’s framing and sheathing.
They took advantage of our design services and came up with a lovely design with the help of our Home Visualizer tool. They opted for James Hardie fiber cement horizontal lap in Pearl Gray with Arctic White trim, a truly classic combination.
Fortunately, there was not much damage underneath the old masonit and our crew only had to replace two sheets of sheathing. All o f the framing seemed to be in good shape! They were able to install the new siding without any problems.
This sweet home now is protected from the outside with a low-maintenance and durable fiber cement siding by James Hardie.
