Project Description

Many people love the look of cedar siding, and will sometimes purchase a home for only that reason! While cedar is beautiful it does have some problems. Insects and woodpeckers love it for lunch, it needs constant maintenance like cleaning and painting, and is susceptible to the varying Carolina weather.

For those reasons and more, the owner of this house came to Hatch Homes wanting to remove the old cedar siding and replace it with the far more durable and maintenance free James Hardie fiber cement siding. Our Hatch team was happy to help!

Our Project Consultant worked out the pricing options and details. The customer decided on Gray Slate horizontal lap for the siding and Arctic White trim, soffits, and fascia, keeping with the traditional look of the home. She also chose the beaded panel by James Hardie for her porch ceiling.

While visually the “Before & After” of this home is subtle, the improvements are great! Our homeowner will have worry-free home exterior for many years to come.
