Project Description

The owners of this home knew when they purchased it that eventually they would need to replace the siding. An older home, built in 1963, had the original wood siding covered with an inexpensive vinyl. The homeowners were experiencing moisture issues which led them to believe no weather barrier was installed under either of the sidings.

The homeowners want to tear off the two layers of old siding and replace it with a high quality vinyl. After reviewing pros and cons of trim options, they decided to go with James Hardie fiber cement trim boards, soffits and fascia. Combining vinyl siding and fiber cement trim is a great way to stretch your budget! The color palette our customers landed on was a serene English Wedgewood siding with Arctic White trim.

Once our crew started the demo process, the moisture damage became apparent. There was a lot of rotting sheathing and framing on this home. There was missing insulation as well. Our crew remediated the rotting sheathing and framing and installed new insulation in many areas. After that was completed, they wrapped the home in weather barrier and then installed the new siding, soffits, fascia and trim.

This home has a beautiful new look and is in great shape underneath the new exterior as well!
