Project Description

The owners of this house in the woods were only a few years from retiring. They wanted to get their home updated and repair some damage to their siding so that they can retire in style and comfort. The main problem was that woodpeckers and carpenter bees damaged the cedar lap siding, which is not unusual for a home surrounded by trees!

Hatch Homes offers a great design tool. Our visualizer allows homeowners to apply different siding, window, door, and trim options to a photograph of their home. These customers took full advantage of the tool and came up with a great design. They chose James Hardie ColorPlus horizontal lap siding and trim in Cobblestone. They also needed to replace their fascia and soffits and used James Hardie materials for those as well. The customers wanted to update their windows and doors on the home too. They went with Marvin windows and ThermaTru doors.

Unfortunately, there was a long delay in having our door order delivered (thanks COVID!). Rather than put off the entire project while we waited for the doors to arrive, we decided to install the siding and windows right away. As soon as the doors came in we, went right back to the home and got those installed as well.

Patience is definitely a virtue, and the long wait definitely paid off in the final update of this gorgeous home!
