How do you know when a roof needs to be replaced?
Most modern asphalt shingles will last for about twenty years without needing to be replaced. If, however, your Rock Hill home survives a major storm or another natural disaster, the odds are good that you’ll have to get a new roof sooner. These warning signs are important indicators that it’s time to call Hatch Homes:
Water spots inside – Water stains are not only ugly to look at it, but indicative of potentially major problems with your Rock Hill residence. Generally, interior water spotting means that damage is already happening behind your walls. Wood rot and mold growth are two common issues. You need to get a roof inspection right away if you have brown water stains on your ceilings or walls.
Missing shingles – Missing shingles need to be dealt with immediately, for both aesthetic purposes and to preserve the structural integrity of your house. Typically, when shingles start falling off, it is best to replace the entire roof rather than just the missing shingles. Your Rock Hill, SC installation crew can tell you the wisest choice for your situation, however.
Failing gutters – If you’ve never thought about how much your home’s gutters impact the condition of your roof, you are not alone. Residential gutter systems, however, play a huge role in how long roofing materials last. If your gutters stop draining correctly, standing water can wreak havoc on shingles.

It was a pleasure working with the Hatch Homes team. From the first step to the last, they were attentive and left me at ease. The put the life back into my old home. They replaced my siding, performed repairs to damages, replaced sheathing, installed insulation, installed new windows (including repositions and adding new windows) and replacing my door with a larger door and staining. I get endless compliments on how great it looks. I included some before and after photos. White is before and green is after. Starting with Lin and working through the design process, she listened and understood what I needed and made recommendations and provided options for me to compare and use to appropriately budget. Providing estimate of different design decisions and ways I can get what I was looking for. that fit in my budget and gave me the look I was looking for. We came up with a combination of board and batten with shingled gables. She even gave me estimates on potential additions that could be needed like needing to replace sheathing on exterior so that I would not be blindsided if it came up JW was the project manager and he was always responsive, attentive and courteous. Working with JW was a breath of fresh air after I had another contractor whose project manager was barely there and took days or something never responded to my messages or calls. I was given expectations on start time and timeline and he did everything he could to keep the project on schedule. With an old home like mine, issues do come up. When they did, he made sure I was immediately informed and provided transparent pricing. He was flexible and adjusted to accommodate changes and add ons I needed or wanted to make on the project. He was on-site a few times a week to make sure the crew was executing as expected. He truly made you feel at ease. The entire crew was great. They were knowledgeable and if they came across something they brought it to my attention and explained what they thought needed to be done and followed up with JW. They were on time, worked hard and were always professional on site. They would check with me if I was there to make sure it was what I wanted and adjusted if it wasn't. I am happy with how my home has been transformed. Hatch homes also provided daily reports for what was done and pictures so you can see the progress whether or not I was there. I would recommend Hatch Homes for your exterior project needs. From the design process to the finish of project, everyone I interacted with was professional, transparent and left me at ease with confidence that the they cared for my home and would do a good job.Posted on Google![]()

Hatch Homes just completed my vinyl siding replacement with Hardie Board siding. From start to finish, working with Hatch Homes was a wonderful experience. Their detailed estimate showed every little detail that needed to be done. Their installers were perfectionists - they made sure everything was exactly right. They were real artists - not just nail bangers! See before picture (vinyl siding) and after pictures (Hardie Board).Posted on Google![]()

Hatch Homes renovated the exterior of two homes for us with Hardy Board. They do great work which is why I contracted them a second time. As the owner, I felt informed and appreciated. They have a program to view options on your home in advance which is nice so you can get a pretty good idea of what colors and styles of siding would look like. Yorin was in charge of this latest project and he is excellent to work with.Posted on Google![]()

My husband and I have built our dream home ourselves, from the floor plans and elevations, to the framing and the rough-ins and everything. However, we knew that siding was going to be too much for us to take on given the height of the house and the number of specialized tools you need. We called Hatch early in the process and they worked with us to quote us on different siding materials so we could make an informed decision. We ended up with Ascend by Allside in Laguna blue and PVC trim and molding around the windows and doors, corners and skirt board on the bottom. We could not be happier with the result! The foreman and crew were very polite and professional, knowledgeable, and patient with our questions! I would not hesitate to recommend them, and have to several folks already!Posted on Google![]()

Hatch Homes replaced some of our old wood windows with Andersen Windows. We can't wait to complete the rest of this project with Hatch Homes. We are having them replace our old siding with James Hardie, a new metal roof, along with new gutters. Great communication and execution from Hatch Homes. I was so impressed with how reliable and honest they were.
Roofing Installation, Rock Hill, SC
Hatch Homes can install:
Architectural Asphalt Shingles:
Architectural asphalt shingles are ideal for anyone who wants a high-end looking roof without sacrificing affordability. Priced just slightly more than basic asphalt shingles, architectural models often resemble wood or ceramic, which are significantly more expensive roofing options.
Metal Roofing:
Metal roof panels are perfect for Rock Hill, SC residents who are worried about their roofs lasting for many years. With most brands offering 50-year warranties on metal roofing products, this is a great investment if durability matters to you.
Rubber Roofing:
Rubber tiles are the perfect roofing material for homeowners whose primary goal is to stop leaks. Since rubber doesn’t allow water to permeate easily, leaks are rare when this type of roof is used. If you’ve had trouble with leaks at your Rock Hill house, talk to Hatch Homes about a rubber roof.
Will my homeowner’s insurance cover my roof replacement?
Typically, homeowner’s insurance policies are written in such a way that roof replacements will be paid for. There are, however, rare circumstances in which Rock Hill residents find themselves paying for their entire roofing jobs. Talk to a local South Carolina agent if you need assistance understanding the finer points of your insurance coverage.
